It
is with deep sadness and regret that I must tell you that our first homebred
champion, Alfie, crossed the rainbow bridge recently peacefully in the arms
of my husband and Jim by his side at the Animal Hospital of Ft. Lauderdale.
After being admitted to the hospital and progressively getting worse, we
could no longer allow him to suffer. My husband is a terrible mess over
this, so very sensitive. He had to afterwards drive home over an hour alone
in a terrible thunder storm.
Alfie was my very special heart dog and best friend, always so close, giving
those double kisses with love in his eyes. He will be terribly missed. My
love... my heart is broken...

Alfie's Story:
Alfie, yet another
very loyal sheltie of mine. Many people contact me for companion pet females
but Alfie is a fine example and the reason why I promote the males as
companions. He is very affectionate and if not for the girls in season, would
be my constant companion. Yes, you guessed it, the girls come first. As a
stud, he has a very high libido and is currently our only "natural
breeder" here at Silver Trails. So much so that he is double locked in
his crate when girls come to visit his dad, Spanky. He throws a pretty
expression and sweet eye and when bred to girls with decent conformation,
produces pretty and correct. Alfie is Kiki's
sire who reserved as a puppy several times in limited showing. As an example
of what Alfie can produce:
This is Alfalfa, a young Alfie son, owned by Joe and
Barbara Schira.

On 12/8/07, Saturday, at the Miami show in FL and under Judge Pat Hastings,
my Alfie/Annie son, Alfalfa, took Reserve Winner's Dog, Best of Breed
Puppy and Puppy Group 2. It was very exciting and thrilling since it was his
very first show. It was an especially great win because I am a huge fan of
Judge Hastings and to have one of my puppies acknowledged is a dream come
true.
Here
is Blossom, an Alfie daughter. What a face!
